Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a referral from my GP?
No, you do not need a referral from your GP to book an appointment. You are welcome to contact The Wholeness Path directly to arrange a session.
Do you offer Medicare Rebates?
At this time, Medicare rebates are not available for services provided through The Wholeness Path. While I am a qualified social worker, I am not yet accredited as a Mental Health Social Worker, which is required to provide Medicare-rebated counselling services under a Mental Health Treatment Plan.
What if I need to reschedule or cancel?
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, I kindly ask that you provide at least 48 hours' notice where possible. This allows the appointment time to be offered to another client who may be waiting for support. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed without notice, may incur a cancellation fee.
Do you offer online sessions?
Yes, online therapy sessions are available and can be accessed from the comfort and privacy of your own space. Online sessions are conducted via a secure video platform and offer the same supportive, collaborative, and confidential experience as in-person therapy.
What can I expect in my first session?
Your first therapy session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a safe and supportive therapeutic relationship. We will discuss what has brought you to therapy, any challenges or concerns you may be experiencing, and what you hope to gain from the process.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes, therapy is confidential. Your privacy is respected, and information shared during sessions is kept confidential in accordance with professional and ethical obligations. There are, however, some legal and ethical exceptions to confidentiality. These may include situations where there is a serious risk of harm to yourself or another person. Your therapist will explain the limits of confidentiality at the beginning of your first session.
